Meet Our Founder
- Steven Allen Mimm, Esq. founded Mimm Law, LLC in 2023. With close to two decades of litigation experience, Mr. Mimm practices in the areas of civil, commercial, criminal defense, and professional licensing actions. Mimm Law, LLC was created with the primary focus on offering skillful legal representation in both the area of criminal defense and professional licensing.
- Mr. Mimm, a Montgomery County native, graduated from Cheltenham High School in 2001. After attending Clarion University (now named PennWest Clarion), Mr. Mimm graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He obtained dual majors in both Business Management and Industrial Relations. In 2005, Mr. Mimm began his legal education at Widener University Commonwealth Law School, Pennsylvania’s Capital’s only Law School, located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In 2008, Mr. Mimm graduated from Widener Law and was barred in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
- From 2009 to 2014, Mr. Mimm began his professional career as a criminal defense attorney. During this time, Mr. Mimm engaged in multiple-day jury trials, complex defense litigation, and defended thousands of clients with criminal charges ranging from misdemeanors, like Driving Under the Influence (DUI), to extremely serious felonies, including felony assaults and homicides. As a Dauphin County Public Defender, Mr. Mimm worked with a variety of professionals in the legal community, such as medical and forensic experts, law enforcement, and prosecuting attorneys, to assert his clients’ rights in the criminal judicial system.
- After his tenure as a Criminal Defense Attorney, Mr. Mimm was hired as Assistant Counsel for the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel (OGC). From 2014 to 2022, Mr. Mimm acted as a Prosecuting Attorney for the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs (BPOA) under Pennsylvania’s Department of State (DOS). As a Prosecuting Attorney, Mr. Mimm dealt directly with Professional Licensing and was responsible for overseeing Professional License litigation for violations of Professional Licensing Acts and Regulations.
- In 2022, Mr. Mimm was promoted to the role of Board Counsel, where he served as Legal Counsel for Professional Licensing Boards, including Barber Examiners, Chiropractic, Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors. Shortly after, Mr. Mimm relocated back to Montgomery County and formed Mimm Law, LLC, where he practices today.
- Mr. Mimm practices before all 29 Licensing Boards and Commissions under Pennsylvania's Department of State (DOS) including: Accountancy, Architects, Auctioneer Examiners, Barber Examiners, Certified Real Estate Appraisers, Chiropractic, Cosmetology, Crane Operators, Dentistry, Engineers, Land Surveyors, Geologist, Funeral Directors, Landscape Architects, Massage Therapy, Medicine, Navigation Commission, Nursing, Nursing Home Administrators, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Podiatry, Psychology, Real Estate Commission, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, Professional Counselors, Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Vehicle Manufacturers, Dealers, and Salespersons, and Veterinary Medicine.

- Undergraduate Education: Graduated from PennWest Clarion (Magna Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
- Legal Education : Graduated from Widener University's Commomwealth School with a Juris Doctorate awarded in June 2008
- Bar Admissions: Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania (2008) and New Jersey (2022).
- Federal Court Admissions: Admitted to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District of New Jersey, and the US Court of Appeals, 3rd Circuit.

Prior litigation experience :
- Conducted board hearings and meetings for professional license boards.
- Provided legal consultation to professional licensing boards in the following area: chiropractors, barber examiners, social workers, family and marriage therapists, and licensed professional counselors.
- Litigated professional license violations for the following boards: auctioneer examiners, barber examiners, funeral directors, pharmacy, physical therapy, psychology, real estate, social workers, marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, and vehicle manufacturers, dealers, and salespersons.
- Litigated real estate recovery fund issues throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
- Litigated criminal trials from homicide and other serious felonies to simple misdemeanor cases.
- Prepared lay and professional witnesses depositions.
- Engaged in multiple-day jury trials.
- Prepared witnesses for trial, including expert witness retention and preparation.
- Engaged in complex discovery including interrogatories, document production, depositions, as well as the related motion practice.
- Coordinated with experts in various civil law and criminal law areas of practice.
- Drafted administrative orders and final adjudications.
